Sharsheret, a New York–based Jewish agency that raises money for ovarian cancer awareness and support, is holding its sixth annual Pies for Prevention Thanksgiving Bake Sale. The deadline to order is Nov. 21 and pickups are Nov. 26.

Sharsheret was started by sisters Sharon Wieder and Adeena Sussman, who grew up in the Bay Area. Their mother, Stephanie Sussman, who died of ovarian cancer in 2006, was a member of the Orthodox community in Palo Alto.

The pies are homemade and cost $20 each. They are available for pick-up in 18 regions across the country, including Palo Alto and Sunnyvale. Varieties include chocolate-chip cookie dough, cranberry buckle, bourbon-pecan, pecan chocolate chip and maple pumpkin. Pecan-pumpkin bread is also available. All ingredients are certified kosher and parve.
