S.F. Latke Ball raises record amount Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | January 23, 2015 The 2014 Latke Ball, held last month at Ruby Skye nightclub in San Francisco, set records for attendance and money raised, according to the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation. The Dec. 24 all-night dance party for young adult Jews took in $30,000 for urgent Jewish community needs, compared to $24,000 the previous year. The attendance was 900, compared to 600 in 2013. The 18-year-old event was run by the federation’s Young Adult Division and held in Ruby Skye’s Russian Room. That was appropriate, noted federation spokesman Ilan Kayatsky, “because we estimate that more than 10 percent attendees were Russian-speaking.” He added: “Ruby Skye donated the space and labor to us for the evening, which totaled over $8,000. We are very grateful to the owners and staff for their generosity and partnership for this annual event.” J. Correspondent Also On J.
