From “Above and Beyond”

On the big screen in Carmel. Now in its fifth year, the Carmel Jewish Film Festival offers an eclectic array of films. “Above and Beyond” documents American World War II veterans who volunteered to defend Israel. “A Bottle in the Gaza Sea” reveals a tender email correspondence between a young Israeli and a Palestinian. The closing-night feature is “American Jerusalem: Jews and the Making of San Francisco.” All three films will be followed by Q&A discussion with guest speakers.
