Yom HaShoah. “Resilience Through Creativity,” San Francisco’s Holocaust remembrance event, pays homage to the art, music and poetry of the Shoah. In addition to a candlelighting and survivor testimonies, the community gathering features a Yiddish poetry workshop, the story of local partisan Mira Shelub and a screening of “The Defiant Requiem,” about the performance of the Verdi Requiem at Theresienstadt.
