Israel pride at the zoo. A family-style celebration of Israel’s birthday will take place at the San Francisco Zoo, with a puppet show, arts and crafts, a Mediterranean-style lunch and performances by Melita Silberstein, Jonathan Bayer and Brass Magic. The S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation will present “Israel in Our Hearts” awards to Arthur Slepian and Norman and Carol Traeger.
