“An Evening of Elements.” CJM’s annual family gala featuring food, art, LED dance floor and virtual ocean. Activities for adults and children include making sand globes and Hanukkah candles. At Contemporary Jewish Museum, 736 Mission St., S.F. 5:30 p.m. $100, $25 per child.


Age March. All-ages march to raise awareness of age discrimination. Guest speakers include state Sen. Mark Leno. After-party at Union Street Perry’s. Starts at corner of Gough and Union streets, S.F. 12 p.m. Free, but registration requested.

KlezCalifornia’s Yiddish Culture Fest. Afternoon of classes on acting, klezmer dancing, Yiddish phrases, American Jewish radicals and more. Ends with “Cabaret by the Bay” and dance party with music by the Gonifs. Eat, drink and get funky: The first night of Hanukkah (Dec. 24) will still be two weeks away, but that won’t slow down the revelry on Dec. 10 at San Francisco’s fifth annual “Vodka & Latke” party, where the liquor flows, the latkes are abundant and music from two DJs rocks the house. The annual bash is sponsored by Hebrew Free Loan, and all proceeds benefit the S.F.-based agency’s programs. Each ticket includes food and two drinks.
