“Understanding Ancient Jewish History” will be held in two locations. One course, geared toward ages 20 to 40, will meet at 7:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday at Congregation Shir Hadash, 16555 Shannon Road, Los Gatos.
The second class meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at Congregation Beth David, 19700 Prospect Road, Saratoga.

What was the land of Egypt like at the time of the Exodus? What did people eat? What happened when they got sick?
Lehrhaus Judaica co-director Jehon Grist will lead a two-session class on “Visiting the Prince of Egypt: The Passover Experience for Parents and Kids” beginning at 10 a.m. March 21.
The second session will be a tour of the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose. Kids over age 10 and adults are welcome. Tuition is $10 for members of San Jose Learning Consortium (which consists of San Jose area synagogues, JCCs and Jewish day-school parents), $15 for non-members. Kids learn free. Museum admission is $3.50 for kids, $7 for adults.
In the first century C.E., Mediterranean Judaism was a vibrant, varied and controversial faith. “A Distant Mirror: First Century Jews and Judaism” will focus on the types of Judaism practiced at the time, and cover the era’s architecture and culture. Ken Cohen, president of Lehrhaus Judaica, will teach.
The four-session class will meet at 7:30 p.m. beginning March 9 at Congregation Sinai, 1532 Willow Brae Ave., San Jose. Tuition is $35 for synagogue and San Jose Learning Consortium members, $45 for non-members.
“Business Ethics: A Jewish Perspective,” a four-session course, will examine ethical responsibilities to clients, employees and competitors. Jon Levisohn, a doctorate candidate at Stanford University, will teach. The class will meet at 7:30 p.m. March 2 at Congregation Shir Hadash. Tuition is $35 to $40.
A course that will examine international Jewish fiction and memoirs written after 1975 will begin at 7:30 p.m. April 22.
Taught by Marsha Lee Berkman, who co-edited with Elaine Marcus Starkman the anthology “Here I Am: Contemporary Jewish Stories from Around the World,” the class will meet in four sessions at Beth David. Tuition is $25 to $35.
Grist will teach “Israel and Jordan in One Day” at 1 p.m. June 6 at Shir Hadash. Costs range from $25 to $40.
David Unterman, cantor emeritus of Congregation Beth Am, will lead “Passover in One Day” at 1 p.m. March 7. Cost is $25 to $35.
