Bronfman has suggested that many Jewish organizations are redundant, and that scarce funds are being squandered to support superfluous agencies.
The merger was seen as Bronfman following his own advice.
The WZO is affiliated with the Jewish Agency. Although the two are essentially indistinguishable, it is not clear how the Jewish Agency would be affected.
