SAN FRANCISCO

Friday | July 10
NextGen Shabbat with Chef David Nayfeld — Founder of Che Fico restaurant speaks as part of the NextGen Leadership Speaker Series through Jewish Family and Children’s Services. Followed by Shabbat dinner from Nayfeld’s restaurant Bubbaleh. Open to adults in their 20s to 40s. At JFCS, 2150 Post St. 6-8 p.m. $25. 

Saturday | July 18
Freedom of Expression Award — Rachel Bloom, who co-created and starred in “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” will receive this year’s award from the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival in conjunction with the screening of “Hollywood Does Abortion,” a documentary of how abortion has been treated in films and TV shows. At Castro Theatre, 429 Castro St. 6 p.m. $30 general. 

NORTH BAY

Sunday | July 26
Tiburon Jewish Festival — Chabad of Tiburon presents a day of art and cooking workshops, photo booth, live music featuring Saul Goodman’s Klezmer Band, The Ferris Wheels Band and the Marin County Kosher Kart food truck. At Zelinksy Park, Tiburon. 1-4 p.m. Free. 

Building Peace Together — Day of service hosted by Congregation Beth David with civic leaders, Christian and Muslim fath communities. A jazz reception follows. At Beth David, 19700 Prospect Road, Saratoga. 2-6 pm. Free, RSVP required. 

EAST BAY

Sunday | July 26
Fields of Color — Tu B’av workshop for adults in their 20s and 30s to use plant-based dyes on white cloth. Materials provided. At Urban Adamah, 1151 Sixth St., Berkeley. 1-4 p.m. $36-$54, sliding scale. 

“Tu (y yo) B’Av” — Olamim and Urban Adamah present a Latin dance party celebrating the Jewish day of love. Wine and desserts provided. At Urban Adamah, 1151 Sixth St., Berkeley. 7:30-9:30 p.m. $22-$36, sliding scale. 

PENINSULA/SOUTH BAY

Tuesday | July 14
Carrying on after October 7 — Conversation in Hebrew with group facilitator. At Oshman Family JCC, 3921 Fabian Way, Palo Alto. 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. $18. 

Wednesday | July 22
Float Night — Pool party and BBQ hosted by the Addison-Penzak JCC. At 14855 Oka Road, Los Gatos. 4-7 p.m. Free.
