A local teen has planned a benefit concert for a foundation that funds a camp for children with special needs. The concert will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 17 at Rassela’s Jazz Club, 1534 Fillmore St., San Francisco

Sixteen-year-old Madeline Kardos of Belmont planned the benefit as the culmination of her involvement with the Jewish Teen Mentor Project, an initiative organized by Central Region West B’nai B’rith Youth Organization. The Teen Mentor Project pairs teens who want to plan a community program with adults whose expertise in nonprofit management or fundraising can help.

The concert will raise money for the Taylor Family Foundation and its Camp Arroyo, a year-round camp open to special-needs children from Northern California.

Bands performing include Picture Me Broken, Endings for Anastasia, Reincarnated Revival, Blacksand and Flashflood. Tickets cost $9 at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/94483 or $11 at the door.
