Windrush School is a K-8 independent school located on a gorgeous four-acre campus in the East Bay. Fully accredited, Windrush enrolls more than 200 students from diverse backgrounds.

Engaging academics and outstanding teaching are the essence of a Windrush education. The school’s core values — excellence, authenticity, inspiration, community engagement and sustainability — are inextricably linked to our commitment to progressive education. Windrush educators believe that school plays a critical role in promoting the ideals of a democratic society. Each student is given the skills to live in accordance with principles of equality, to embody deep respect for similarities and distinctions, and to embrace the dynamic and complex world in which we live.

Windrush has talented, experienced and innovative teachers who are highly accomplished in their respective fields of education. Our faculty sparks a joy of learning in every child while emphasizing social, emotional and physical health.

Windrush School’s spacious campus includes our Platinum LEED K-8 library/middle school building, one of only four in the nation! Students take advantage of the full-size gym, computer lab, art studio, kitchen, grass field and play structures. Our Learning Garden serves as a hands-on laboratory for teaching science and nutrition, and the weekly Farm Stand provides organic produce to subscribing families. Spanish, art, music, P.E., technology and service learning enrich the curriculum. Middle School students can choose electives such as Mandarin and Lego robotics.

Tuition assistance and affordable after-school care are available. Elementary tours occur Tuesday mornings; middle school tours are Wednesdays. Email [email protected] to reserve a space. Come to our admissions open house from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14! www.windrush.org
